Great quality charger with 40A capability, screen for info, thick cables and solid wall mount.

This 40 Amp EV Charger by Battery Tender, is well-made, solid performing charger from a leader in battery chargers. Here are some of the things I’ve learned while owning it and things to consider before buying.

      I.          Quality – This charger looks and feels like a very well-made charger, with thick cables and a strong build. I’m happy with the higher quality this one offers. I’d put the overall quality in the lower side of the upper tier of the quality scale for at home EV chargers and guess that it should hold up well over time.

    II.          Performance – It’s worked great in many ways, with power up to 40 amps that’s easily adjustable to what you need. It includes a basic, but helpful screen for useful information, such as time, current, voltage, power used and temperature, that’s larger and easy to read. It has 6 safety features, to help keep you safe, like over-voltage protection. The cable is long at 25ft, making it convenient if you can’t park close to the plug. It comes with a NEMA 14-50 plug that will need a 50-amp breaker to utilize the full 40-amps. The wall mount for the main unit is sturdy, providing a strong way to attach it to the wall. I feel like the main unit is bigger than most and a bit excessive versus others that I have with the same capability.

Overall, this is a fantastic option that offers a high charging ability, with notable quality, convenience and all the basic features needed, from a trusted brand.
